The Wild Bone: The White Alpha of Monroe - Julie Ramsey

The Wild Bone: The White Alpha of Monroe
by Julie Ramsey

Story rating: 3.5

Editorial rating: 2

Sally and her friends go out to celebrate her turning 18, but their choice of venue leaves something to be desired. A known hangout for werewolves, they make a quick exit, but not before a "bad boy" follows Sally to make sure she gets home safely.

Fast forward six years. The rules are that werewolves can't mate until they're 24, and Sally's savior has been waiting in the weeds. What happens next unlocks hidden secrets and an unanticipated legacy.

I grew up on creature features, and I will admit that werewolves were not my favorite horror movies. With that being said, Ms. Ramsey has written an interesting idea. In this very short novella, she introduces the reader to a female werewolf who is destined to take over leading the pack. I think she's done a good job of revealing the character and piquing interest for the subsequent installments in the series.
